new north shore bars and restaurants

Peanut Butter Jelly is one of the new bars and restaurants on the North Shore

Already a fave of our friends on the Northern beaches, a local version of Peanut Butter Jelly has opened in The Canopy at Lane Cove.

It’s described as ‘a celebration of street food and street art from all over the world’ with flavours from Asia, North America, South America and the Caribbean.

The top dishes are Curry Arancini Balls, Pork Belly Baos and Popcorn Chicken Tacos, plus S’mores brownie bombs for dessert (with house-toasted marshmallow). And don’t skip the drinks- the Peanut Butter Whiskey Sour and the Peanut Butter Salted Caramel Espresso Martini are legendary.

El Gringos Tacos, Crows Nest

El Gringos is the latest late-night bar opening in Crows Nest, and it will be a smash with crowds looking for favourites like Potato Bravas (cooked potatoes in adobo sauce with garlic chipotle crema) and a delicious range of tacos (of course). The desserts though are a standout, featuring unusual flavours like pumpkin donuts with a tahini dulce de leche drizzled with maple syrup. Yum!

The bar will include a Mexican-inspired cocktail menu featuring a Bloody Mexican, the Gringos Margarita and Mexican Passion.
