Science Week Events on the North Shore

Spotlight on Science, Hornsby Library

How do you become a penguin warden? Do mangroves and salt marshes really benefit human society? What is the future of radiation therapy in low-income countries? Why is biodiversity important?

Head to Hornsby Library to celebrate National Science Week and tackle some of the big questions.

You’ll hear from a panel of four working scientists from different fields, who will talk about the science that has inspired them, what the future holds, and the career path choices that got them where they are today.

The panelists include a penguin warden volunteer, a radiation therapy clinical educator, an environmental scientist, and a strategic conservation and monitoring design expert. The discussion will be moderated by Hornsby Council’s very own Dr. Ana Rubio, an environmental scientist. This event is suitable for students, emerging scientists, and anyone with an interest in STEM.
