Taronga on Ice
Resist the urge to hibernate this winter and have a WILD time at Taronga Zoo Sydney’s new open-air, pop-up ice rink – Taronga On Ice. Kicking off Saturday 2 July and running for the duration of the winter school holidays, this all-ages event is perfect for the entire family! A spin around on the ice not only gives you the chance to learn about the challenges facing Little Penguins in the wild, but also support the Zoo’s vital conservation efforts.

Ice Skating Spectacular, Pittwater
Ice Skating Spectacular is back in Pittwater! Check out their huge 30mx8m pop-up ice skating rink on the Northern Beaches these school holidays! Saturday 9 July and every day until Sunday 17 July (inclusive). 45-minute sessions run every hour from 11am – 9pm daily. Suitable for all ages (kids under 4yrs must be accompanied by an adult). It’s not just for kids, but great fun for the whole family, the work team or your local sporting group.

Bondi Festival Ice Rink
Nothing says Winter like taking the family for a skate at Australia’s only beachside ice rink! Skate in the sunshine, or under the stars at night – it’s an exhilarating experience. Skating sessions start on the hour and go for 45 minutes. Also get a birds eye view of the iconic Bondi Beach from Bondi Vista, a 22-metre high ferris wheel. Check out all the other events happening at Bondi Festival and make a day of it with Me Snot Bottom’s Stinky Show, Task York: Trash Talk and more.

Parramatta Winterlight Ice Rink
Come and enjoy Sydney’s largest open-air ice-skating rink, a dedicated skating rink for kids, a large illuminated Ferris wheel and a fun ice-slide! Winterlight is free to enter and enjoy, however, tickets are required for ice-skating and some of the rides. There will be plenty of food and drinks to enjoy with warm winter treats on offer including soup, wood-fired pizza, Indian curries, as well as poffertjes.
Get your thrill on the Winterlight ice slide, made entirely of ice! At 30 metres long, a ride down this elevated slide is definitely set to get your heart racing.

Permanent Ice Rinks
Macquarie Ice Rink, North Ryde
Located right in the heart of Macquarie Centre, you can enjoy a spot of shopping before hitting the ice with the family. Just head onto their website before you go to check out their session times and book your spot to guarantee a skate. You can simply have some fun on the ice, host a birthday party, or take part in some skating lessons to improve those skills.

This dedicated ice skating rink in Alexandria has it all. Enjoy some of their learn-to-skate classes, and once you find your footing on the ice, you can also try ice hockey and ice fitness classes. Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink is a not-for-profit that puts any money it makes, right back into the ice rink. It’s well-known in the area for its affordability, and the host of activities they put on during the year. From skating classes to birthday parties, ice hockey and even speed dating fun.
