Turramurra Learn to Swim (Turramurra)

Turramurra Learn to Swim has been running a Learn-to-Swim program for babies, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults since 1981. Each class is 30 minutes, with only one lesson running in the pool at a time. The small children feel secure, and the older children can develop their strokes and techniques with a teacher in the water who provides encouragement and correction.

Their swimming lessons provide your child with lifelong skills and water safety techniques, giving you and your child confidence around the water. Their pool water is crystal clear, and their reception area is air-conditioned for your comfort. Weekly swimming lessons are offered during school terms, as well as Holiday Intensive Swimming Programs, throughout the year.

The enclosed, specially designed teaching pool is heated to a minimum of 32.5 °C year-round. This provides an ideal environment and pool space for teaching swimming. Warm water is vital for parent-and-baby classes, as it relaxes children who may not be confident.

• North Turramurra: 10m × 7.5m heated indoor pool at 33°C, with a 1.2m depth and spacious layout ideal for all lesson types. Quiet, clean, and designed for focused, personalised learning. North Turramurra offers multiple change rooms, plenty of showers, and baby change tables, providing a smooth and comfortable experience for families. The facility has excellent pram access and space. Lockers are available for secure storage during lessons.
• North Ryde: 12.5m × 5.5m indoor heated pool kept at 33°C, with a consistent 1.2m depth and salt-chlorinated water. The calm, private environment is perfect for babies, toddlers, children, and adult beginners. The North Ryde centre includes baby change tables, three warm showers, and one toilet located close to the pool for easy access during lessons. While prams are allowed in the pool area, during busy times we strongly recommend parking them in the designated safe space just outside the pool. Please note that lockers are not available at this location.

Every lesson is built around their philosophy that “Fun is the first stroke we teach.” When swimmers enjoy the water, they learn faster, build confidence, and stay engaged — no matter their age.

At United Swimming, all its pools are indoor and heated year-round. Its Wahroonga Centre consists of a larger competition pool (25m or 50m in length) for more advanced swimmers (squads) and a 32-degree heated learn-to-swim pool with custom depths and ledges specifically for the United Swimming programs.

Loreto offers a year-round, six-day squad program for male and female swimmers from the local community. The squad program provides options for swimmers at all levels and aims to support the development of each swimmer.

Their purpose-built swim development facility, located on the beautiful grounds of Loreto Normanhurst, consists of a 25m heated, indoor eight-lane swimming pool.
