Need a gazebo, generator or a garden leaf blower? In search of a puppy crate, popcorn machine or paper shredder? Why buy when you can borrow from The Sydney Library of Things? Based at The Coal Loader in Waverton, The Sydney Library of Things features an extensive collection of tools, games, sports gear, electrical goods and party supplies that members can borrow for free.
Now more than ever, we need a library of things. The cost of living is rising, and buying things that you only use once or twice just doesn’t make sense. Nor is it great for our environment either. How can you try new things or grab some much-needed equipment without spending much money? The answer is The Sydney Library of Things.
How many times have you purchased an item, used it once or twice, and then it has sat in your garage for years before finally being chucked out for hard rubbish (and in landfill)?
We’re thrilled to hear that The Sydney Library of Things has recently opened in Waverton, and it’s full of useful, fun, and unique items that members can borrow for free. It’s located at the Coal Loader in Waverton, which also happens to be a great place to visit with kids.
And it’s so easy to use! Simply reserve your items online, and then pick them up on a Saturday morning. You can borrow the item for two weeks (and this can be extended if the item has not been reserved).
You can join The Sydney Library of Things for as little as $30 (quarterly membership) and borrow up to five items per week without further fees!
