Looking for the perfect spot to spend your summer months splashing about? The new Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre refurbishment is now complete and open to the public!
Construction began for the much anticipated $55-million centre, funded completely by Hills Shire Council, back in 2018. Yet, thanks to a global pandemic and weather setbacks, the project was less than straightforward. Despite these obstacles the new Waves Fitness & Aquatic Centre is now open!
“Waves is the largest project ever undertaken by The Hills Shire Council and it also highlights what the local government sector can achieve for the community. Waves is a magnificent facility which will serve our region for decades to come – allowing our residents and visitors to make a lifetime of memories,” said Hills Mayor Peter Gangemi.

- 25m outdoor learn-to-swim and leisure pool

Children’s Splashpad
Outdoor splashpad for kids!
Of course, the highlight of this new centre for families is the children’s splashpad!
This outdoor area has everything with multiple water slides for kids of all ages, plenty of fountains, water tunnels, and, most importantly, plenty of shade. It’s the perfect spot to cool off in the warmer months while the kids enjoy a play.
With a cafe onsite, you can make a day of it and keep the whole family busy.
