DESCRIPTION

St Edmund’s College in Wahroonga is a Year 7-12 co-educational special high school for teenagers with a wide range of disabilities, including students with mild to moderate intellectual disability, Autism and other sensory impairments. All students are catered for through an individual program, which addresses academic, and personal and emotional wellbeing.

The use of technology forms a significant part of the delivery of the educational programs at the College. They are inspired by the strong belief that the young people they serve have a fundamental right to a quality education that is meaningful, purposeful and hope-filled. Their vision is to enrich the hearts and minds of young people with special needs for active participation in their community. At St Edmund’s College they believe that all children have great potential and an enormous amount to offer the world and our work as an educational community is to support their students to achieve this.

  • Extracurricular activities offered: There are many co-curricular opportunities such as dance, creative art, music and sport to ensure the school experience is both challenging and rich. Learning outside the classroom provides students with the increased opportunity to express themselves through their Creative Arts program; challenge themselves through their Sports program and Camps; and engage in the community through their Excursions and Work Experience program.
  • Transport Options: Students can apply for transport to and from school through the assisted school travel program with the Department of Education. For independent walkers the train station is 1.2km or a 15-minute walk.
  • Fees: $6,600 – $7,965.

Their annual Open Day is held in March every year. College tours are also offered throughout the year on request with the Registrar.
