Forestville Montessori School (FMS) is an Independent School for children aged 0-12 years. FMS students benefit from a progressive, non-denominational education that combines Australian Government standards with an authentic, high-fidelity Montessori program.
Our learning is aligned with the science of human development. Our teaching, learning materials and environments are designed to meet each child at each developmental stage. From toddlerhood to preschool and primary school, FMS students learn through exploration, curiosity and interest.
Your child will enjoy personalised learning, with 1:1 support from their educators every day. Lead teachers are degree qualified, and Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) trained. Each is supported by an AMI trained class assistant. Together, they learn and teach to your child’s strengths, providing guidance and challenge without competitive pressure. The relationship between student and teacher is key to your child’s learning success, interest, and joy at school.
Mixed age classrooms offer children older students leadership and mentoring opprtunities, while younger children are supported and inspired by more experienced students. Your child will thrive in this environment that builds social awareness, confidence and community.
We offer extensive extra-curricular activities including swimming, surfing, gymnastics, cooking, music, horticulture and animal care. We integrate the Grow Your Mind well-being program into daily learning. Before and after-school programs are available on-site including Mandarin, music, soccer, chess and STEM, as well as after school and vacation care for toddler, preschool, primary students.
CCS and start strong funding are available for eligible families.
FMS offers an all-encompassing education and holistic development for children aged 2-12 on the Northern Beaches.
