BubbaDesk: The story so far

BubbaDesk was founded by Lauren and Tom Perrett. Lauren returned to work after just six months of maternity leave and was riddled with post-natal anxiety, plus she found it really challenging to find reliable (and affordable!) care for their son, Charles. They juggled working from home with a baby for a few months, but felt guilty that their child wasn’t getting the present, playful parents they wanted to be.

They dreamed of a space where they could work but also have their baby nearby. They knew that many of their friends faced the same struggle, so decided to turn that dream into a reality. The idea was to build a space where they could be super productive, and have their child close by being looked after by trusted professionals seemed like a no-brainer. And that’s where the idea for BubbaDesk started.

Located in the heart of St Leonards on Sydney’s North Shore, BubbaDesk is a unique co-working space designed specifically for parents with children under four years old. You will find:

One floor of workspace: Their expansive co-working area has 38 hot desks, providing you ample room to work, collaborate and network.
Two children’s areas: They have two dedicated children’s areas filled with toys, games, and educational materials to keep your little ones engaged.
Professional nannies: They have a team of professional and experienced nannies with a carer to child ratio of 4:1, who will care for your child just upstairs while you work. You can focus on your tasks, knowing that your child is in safe and capable hands. But you’re also nearby, in case you need to breastfeed or settle them.
Dark sleep rooms: Need your child to nap while you’re on a conference call? Their multiple dark sleep rooms are perfect.
High-speed internet: Stay connected and work efficiently with their hi-speed internet.
Private meeting rooms: Conduct meetings, interviews or brainstorming sessions in one of their four private meeting rooms.

Plans to expand BubbaDesk

BubbaDesk is Australia’s first business offering co-working space with onsite childcare. They launched in October 2022 at Erina on the NSW Central Coast, with a second space recently opening in St Leonards, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.
