Wow! Who would have guessed we had so many adorable furbabies living right here on the North Shore? We were blown away by the number of amazing entries we had in our Love Your Pet competition, we couldn’t possibly choose. So, we handed it over to you to vote… and we have our winners! So scroll down to check out the winners!

Thanks to all our fur (and other pets!) families who sent in their adorably sweet, cheeky and downright heart-melting photos of their beloved pets. The quality of entries was incredible, so we handed it over to the public and had thousands of votes roll in. So, without further ado… let’s congratulate the winners!

Thanks to Turramurra Veterinary Hospital for loving our pets as much as we love them, and for making this Love Your Pet competition possible!

Sarah Jay: “Pets are part of our family”

Sarah has won 1st Prize ($500), which includes:

  • Complimentary veterinary consultation at Turramurra Veterinary Hospital
  • Large bag of Hills food, pet shampoo & treats
  • A 12-month supply of Bravecto Tick & Flea Prevention

2nd Prize: Christina Geary & the sleeping baby & cat

‘This is my human son, Alex and my fur son, Rastus, who are inseparable best friends. Rastus used to sit on my belly and purr when Alex was in utero. I also went into labour with Alex while trying to pick a very upset Rastus up off the floor one evening. They now fight for mum’s lap space and chase each other around the house since Alex has learned how to crawl.

My cats bring so much warmth and love to the household. Being greeted with meows at the door, headbutts while working on the computer and scruffles on the lounge at the end of a big day make the all the small moments more magical.’

Christine has won 2nd Prize ($300), which includes:

  • Complimentary veterinary consultation at Turramurra Veterinary Hospital
  • Medium bag of Hills food, pet shampoo & treats

3rd Prize: Camille Jamon, Oreo & the sleeping baby

‘This photo will always be special to our family. This is when our fur baby Oreo (a toy Cavoodle) met his baby sister for the very first time. It was love at first sight. He wanted to lick her all over yet he is so gentle with her. His little sister is now 1 year old and their bond is stronger than ever. He follows her everywhere. They play fetch, hide and seek and he loves waiting for her to share her bikkies with him. Their relationship is so beautiful to watch.

Oreo is our family’s fur baby. His love and warmth to every member of the family brings everyone joy. He loves being around us and he is always the first one to welcome a family member who comes home from work or school. He is also our home’s head of security 😀 He is protective of our home and his human siblings. He is a blessing to our family.’

Camille has won 3rd Prize ($150), which includes:

  • Complimentary veterinary consultation at Turramurra Veterinary Hospital
  • Small bag of Hills food, pet shampoo & treats

The Winner: Other pets

‘Isolating during COVID was bearable when I had these two darlings with me at home – our bunnies, Sesame and Coconut, and of course my human darlings, Keira and Alec. They bring warmth and peace into our lives.”

Thanks to our sponsor, Turramurra Veterinary Hospital

Turramurra Veterinary Hospital was established by Dr James Thompson in 2006 and his wife, Dr Gretta Howard, later joined the practice. To this day, they remain a proudly independent and family-owned practice. They are proud to be the only veterinary practice on Sydney’s North Shore to be accredited as an Australian Small Animal Veterinarians Practice of Excellence. Their 30-minute veterinary consultations mean you will never feel rushed and have enough time to chat about your pet’s needs.

Turramurra Veterinary Hospital has been located in the Princes Street shopping precinct of Turramurra since it opened in 2006 (with plenty of parking around the area) and supports a wide variety of charities, local schools and kindergartens at their fetes and fund-raising events, including sponsoring Kindifarm visits, allowing children to interact safely with a variety of young farm animals. They are also a major sponsor of the North Turramurra Football Club (NTFC) supporting local community sport.Find out more about Turramurra Veterinary Hospital.
