Hassall Park in St Ives has been transformed into a fantastic destination for kids and parents alike. With its modern facilities and thoughtfully designed play space, this new playground is perfect for outdoor fun and adventure.
The Playground at Hassall Park
The revamped playground beautifully integrates with the natural surroundings of Hassall Park. Using earthy tones, timber elements, and lush landscaping, the space maintains its connection to nature. Shaded picnic tables and grassy areas provide the perfect spots for families to relax while keeping an eye on the kids.
The design caters to big and little kids alike, with plenty to keep them busy.

Climbing caterpillar
The climbing caterpillar is a highlight that you can spot from miles away! It’s great for the little kids, and it has a mini stepping bridge, climbing frame, and slide to keep them busy as they run from one end to the next.

Zoe enjoying the bouncing toy
There are also plenty of little toys for kids to bounce on.

Zoe enjoying the swing!
Swings are always a crowd-pleaser, and there is a baby swing and a standard seat swing for kids to enjoy.

Rock climbing wall
This rock climbing wall is great for the older kids, providing a little more challenge for them. Kids can even race to the top!

Bike track around the oval
You can even bring along the bikes and scooters for kids to zip around the path on the outside.

Exercise for adults
Even adults can enjoy this new playground, with exercise equipment off to the side. You can watch your little ones play while also enjoying a bit of time to yourself (on yourself).
Hassall Park Oval

Hassall Park Oval
If all else fails, bring a ball and send the big kids to the oval next to the playground. This ensures that the playground caters to all ages.
Beyond the fantastic playground, Hassall Park offers plenty of open space for various activities. Bring a ball for a casual soccer game, picnic under the trees, or enjoy the fresh air while the kids burn off energy.
The park’s upgraded amenities include clean public toilets, drinking fountains, and bins for convenient rubbish disposal.
So, pack the snacks, grab the sunscreen, and head to Hassall Park for a day of fun, laughter, and adventure. This exciting new playground is ready and waiting to welcome your family!
Facilities at Hassall Park
The great news is that a toilet block at the playground is handy for little kids.
There is also a shaded picnic table at one end where you can sit and watch the kids.
Unfortunately, there is no shade over the actual playground, making it a hot spot to visit in Summer!
