There’s nothing better than discovering a new local park that has recently undergone an upgrade! Orange Green Playground in North Turramurra reopened in July offering up new inclusive play equipment, seating, and plenty of fun for the kids.
I’m always on the hunt for new and exciting places to take my energetic four-year-old, Elliot, for some fun and adventure. Recently, we discovered a hidden gem right here in our neighbourhood – the Orange Green Playground in North Turramurra. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this playground is a fantastic spot for little explorers.
Getting to Orange Green playground
Turns out, this playground is just a few minutes drive around the corner from us in Wahroonga – and we never even knew it existed. There is plenty of street parking, so you can simply pull up out the front and unload the kids to play. Even better, we visited around lunchtime on a Friday and had the whole place to ourselves. Bonus!
Checking out the play equipment

Elliot beelined straight for the climbing.

Braved his way up!
The highlight of this playground has to be the huge climbing structure that has been built for kids of all ages.

Having a little rest along the way
It’s got plenty of helping steps along the way to break up the climb for little kids, with seats and nets to rest in as well.

Elliot’s favourite place is the swings
Next, we moved on to the swings. I think Elliot would stay here all day if I gave him the option. Thankfully, he is starting to learn to swing himself with a gentle push to start him off.

Spinner
These spinners are always a big hit, especially when there are lots of children in the playground.

Elliot on the slide
The slide was our next stop. It’s definitely built with toddlers in mind and Elliot didn’t spend much time here. A little small for what he likes!
Finally, we tried the seesaw. It was a fun change of pace, requiring me to join in!
The natural environment

Beautiful natural setting
One of the standout features of the Orange Green Playground in Turramurra is its beautiful natural setting. The playground is surrounded by trees, providing a canopy of shade.

Lots of seating as well
It’s the perfect spot to pack a picnic and settle in for the afternoon, although the only drawback to this would be the lack of toilets around.
There’s ample seating around the park where you can sit back and watch the kids and even a water fountain to keep them hydrated while playing.
