Fairfield Adventure Park is one of those incredible playgrounds that is worth the extra effort to get to, simply because it is absolutely awesome! With huge slides, a flying fox, obstacle courses and a fabulous toddler playground, plus all the facilities you need, you’ll be planning a return trip as soon as you leave! Reviewer Felicity Frankish went along for a visit and here’s what she found…
I’ll start off by stating the obvious. This isn’t a park on Sydney’s North Shore. It’s a bit of a trek to get to, but when you’re getting through endless days of holidays with the kids home, nagging to do something fun, or simply want something to do on the weekend – this park is more than worth the trip. It offers up hours of free entertainment (if you don’t include petrol & tolls!), while simultaneously tiring the kids out. Plus, it’s perfect for older kids too.
It took us a good 45 minutes to drive to Fairfield Adventure Park from Wahroonga. I took my three kids, Cassie (7), Vivi (5) and Elliot (4) and simply told them we were meeting a friend at a big playground.

Giant slides waiting for the kids!
As soon as we arrived, the shouts of amazement as the kids looked out to see just how BIG the playground was, made the trip worth it. Cassie’s first words were, “Even if our friend wasn’t coming, I wouldn’t care. This place is amazing!”
So yes, Fairfield is a fair drive. But once you discover this park, I promise you’ll be planning adventures here at every opportunity!
Giant Slides & Flying Fox at Fairfield Adventure Park

The kids couldn’t get enough of the flying fox
The first thing you see as you pull up out the front of Fairfield Adventure Park is the towering tunnel slides with the huge climbing net to reach them. It’s quite a sight!
All three kids dashed off to have a go, but got distracted by the flying fox on the way there. The best thing about it: the kids could pull the flying fox all the way to the top by themselves – no parent involvement needed. That was a huge win.

Couldn’t resist having a turn as well!
Elliot was a little hesitant at first to give it a go. I much too eagerly popped him on my lap and we went together (it was fun!). After that, he was off on his own and I had to drag him off it to go home.

They loved the climbing challenge
The girls then got climbing, while I got a sore neck looking up at them as they went. It was a bit too big for Elliot, but he still climbed around the base and enjoyed it.

Obstacle Course at Fairfield Adventure Park

Such a cool obstacle course
Just when you thought the play area couldn’t get any more fun, you wander to the back and discover a huge obstacle course.

Even Elliot could pull himself up
They can pull themselves up on ropes.

The tires were a huge hit
Climb the tyres.
Scramble up the nets.
Tight rope their way from one end to the other.

Cassie took on the harder tight ropes
There’s even a human foosball court off to the side if you get enough friends to join you for the day!
Toddler Play Space at Fairfield Adventure Park
There was plenty for the younger kids to do as well.

Mini nets and swings for the younger years
My kids didn’t spend much time in this area, as they loved all the harder things to climb! But it’s great the park caters to kids of all ages and abilities.
There were plenty of mini nets around for the younger kids to have a go at climbing as well, so no-one was left out.
There are also plenty of swing sets and other areas for the kids to play.
