DESCRIPTION
The recognition of the uniqueness of each student as a learner underpins the Ravenswood Learning Framework from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
In 2023, one Ravenswood International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma student achieved a perfect score of 45, equating to the highest possible ATAR of 99.95. In 2022, four students also accomplished an ATAR of 99.95 (one HSC and three IB). In 2022 and 2023, five Ravenswood students in total have achieved perfect scores in the IB Diploma, placing them in the top 1 per cent of IB students in the world.
As the first Positive Education and Visible Wellbeing School in NSW, Ravenswood understands that wellbeing and academic success are inextricably linked. Principal Mrs Anne Johnstone (Australian Principal of the Year 2024) is internationally recognised for her pioneering work in the field of Positive Education and youth wellbeing. Ravenswood received three awards at the 2024 Australian Education Awards for School Principal of the Year, School Principal of the Year Non-Government, and Best Use of Technology. The school has also been recognised five times in six years on The Educator 5-Star Innovative Schools List (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023).
Ravenswood is the only school on Sydney’s Upper North Shore to offer students a choice between the HSC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). From Kindergarten to Year 6, the IBPYP provides a rigorous framework that values and promotes inquiry, collaboration, and student agency. Our new pre-kindergarten, Ravenswood Prep, offers an innovative curriculum combining the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), Reggio Emilia and Ravenswood’s Positive Education approach.
Ravenswood students have access to more than 100 diverse co-curricular choices, from acro-dance to AFL, and are also engaged in Service and Social Justice Programs. Ravenswood was the first girls’ school on Sydney’s North Shore to offer Cadets (in partnership with the Knox Grammar School Army Cadet Unit).
