DESCRIPTION
The recognition of the uniqueness of each student as a learner underpins the Ravenswood Learning Framework from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.
In 2022, five Ravenswood students achieved the highest possible score with four students achieving an ATAR of 99.95 – a remarkable result for a proudly non-selective school. One Ravenswood HSC student achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95, one of just 48 students across the state to achieve this rank. Four Ravenswood IB students also achieved perfect scores of 45 out of 45, placing them in the top 1 per cent of IB students in the world.
As the first Positive Education and Visible Wellbeing School in NSW, Ravenswood understands that wellbeing and academic success are inextricably linked. Principal Mrs Anne Johnstone is internationally recognised for her pioneering work in the field of Positive Education and youth wellbeing. Ravenswood received four excellence awards at the 2022 Australian Education Awards for School Principal of the Year, Best Student Wellbeing Program, Primary School Teacher of the Year and Boarding School of the Year. The school has also been recognised four times on The Educator 5-Star Innovative Schools List.
Ravenswood is the only school on Sydney’s Upper North Shore to offer students a choice between the HSC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). From Kindergarten to Year 6, the IBPYP provides a rigorous framework that values and promotes inquiry, collaboration, and student agency. Our new pre-kindergarten, Ravenswood Prep, offers an innovative curriculum combining the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), Reggio Emilia and Ravenswood’s Positive Education approach.
Ravenswood students have access to more than 100 diverse co-curricular choices, from acro-dance to AFL, and are also engaged in Service and Social Justice Programs. Ravenswood was the first girls’ school on Sydney’s North Shore to offer Cadets (in partnership with the Knox Grammar School Army Cadet Unit).
