Monte has been educating and caring for young women since 1875 and continues a tradition of excellence in Catholic education in the way of our founders, the Sisters of Mercy North Sydney.
As a College community, Monte embraces and lives by the values of Mercy, Justice, Service, Human Dignity and Option for the Poor. These values guide their teaching and learning culture and inform students’ immersion programs and social justice initiatives.

- Co-curricular offered: At Monte, they believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and their diverse range of co-curricular activities equip students with the skills, values, and memories that will guide them after they leave the College. The College’s co-curricular program includes but is not limited to debating, Duke of Edinburgh Award, learning enhancement programs, drama, theatre as well as an extensive music program. The Monte ‘Sport for All’ philosophy encourages a high level of participation and offers a wide variety of sports to students for both competition and enjoyment. Students can participate in over 33 different sports.
- Notable Alumni: They are very proud of their Alumni and the wide and diverse professions they excel in. Monte girls have gone on to become politicians, judges, journalists, solicitors, entrepreneurs, engineers, teachers, doctors, marketers and performers. Their engaged Alumni contribute to the College community through their support as guest speakers, attendance at career insight evenings and networking meetings with students.
