DESCRIPTION
Dr. Ujwala Parashar is a highly skilled female Obstetrician & Gynaecologist based in Sydney’s north shore, with over 14 years of experience as a medical practitioner.
Dr Parashar will advise and encourage you during every step of your pregnancy. She will work with you to implement your own birth plan, from your first visit, to the birth of your child and beyond.
Dr Parashar specialises in women’s health and all benign disease of the female reproductive tract. She takes a holistic approach in understanding the individuals concerns in a sensitive and compassionate manner and works together to achieve the best possible outcome for you.
As part of her specialisation she has worked in some of the most prestigious hospitals in Sydney. Most recently, she completed a year at the Westmead hospital as Gynaecology fellow. Previously she successfully completed Allan Ferrier Memorial Fellowship at North Shore Private Hospital and The Mater Hospital.
Dr. Ujj shows a lot of care and warmth for a first time mum as myself. During our consultations and chats, I grew with confidence and excited with anticipating the arrival of my baby. With the help of Dr. Ujj and her recommended team of professionals, midwife Jane Grant and physiotherapist Zoe Wallace, I was well informed and able to fully enjoy my pregnancy. I gave birth to a healthy bundle of joy, which was one of the most amazing experience in my life. Thank you Dr. Ujj and Sam (clinic manager) for being with me as I begin my motherhood.
Can’t thank Ujj enough for her comprehensive, specialist care and friendly approach throughout the term of my pregnancy.
Both Ujj and her Practice Manager, Sam, set me up with right information at the onset – making clear what to expect and when in terms of process (and also cost). They were very patient and flexible in scheduling appointments throughout the term allowing me and my partner to not worry too much about our work commitments. They were very proactive in sharing reports on time and Ujj also made herself available when I had a little scare overseas. Ujj also smoothly managed through the unfortunate complication during the delivery, reflecting highly on her specialist knowledge and experience.
Ujj’s consultative approach, not just for pregnancy related matters but also on life beyond, raising child, schooling etc., was quite refreshing. Found Ujj to be quite a high energy person and to be extremely well connected across the medical fraternity at Mater and North Shore Private. It wouldn’t take her time to straightaway call labs/hospitals to sort out a pending examination report or booking. Her care package is distinctively comprehensive – complementing her consultations with physiotherapy sessions and home visits from midwives – found the time with Zoe and Jane to be extremely helpful.
In all she made my decision to go private totally worth it. Highly highly recommend Ujj to any new moms looking for care.
Dr Uj is my Gynaecologist and she has gone above and beyond my high expectations in providing wonderful before, during and after care of my Bladder repair operation. She is a very good listener and provides clear explanations of everything she does.She recommended an expert Physiotherapist for me to help with the vital pelvic floor exercises which have greatly added to a good recovery.She delivers high quality expert professional care with the utmost skill and patience.
It was my first pregnancy and I was really nervous about it but I took a leap of faith to select Dr. Ujj to take incharge of my pregnancy which she made a memorable one for me.
I never thought I would deliver a child normally after being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which I desperately wanted to, but Dr. Ujj made it possible for me.
She is easily approachable and has a good team of professionals to take care of you at every stage of pregnancy.
I can’t thank her enough as she brought my daughter in this world after a blissful pregnancy journey.

Me and my wife had consulted Dr.Ujwala for our first child and it turned out to be a good decision. She was thorough professional and of course very experienced and hence the delivery went smoothly. She advised us on various aspects of delivery, suggested us about the do’s and dont’s , monitored personally and took regular updates about the delivery over the last 6 months. She has a very experienced staff that managed our regular appointments and we always felt like we have been provided with personal care.
Dr Parashar is a brilliant doctor who delivered my first child recently. Dr Parashar was actually only a cover Dr for me as our chosen Dr had to urgently go overseas right at the last second for a family emergency. Dr Parashar was covering for my Dr and I had never met her until the day of my induction. Given this, I was nervous about not having built any rapport with this “new” covering Dr however upon our first meeting as I went into labour, Dr Parashar made me feel 100% at ease, relaxed and confident about what was to come. She has an incredibly gentle and warm nature which comes across instantly. In the midst of the labour, her expertise and calm attitude shon through even as things continued to change rapidly as baby was delivered. She was also very attentive to my needs and was incredibly protective/careful of not damaging my body in the process.
After the birth, her attentiveness and follow up was outstanding, checking on me each day in hospital and once home, also giving me a way to communicate and ask questions if needed. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Dr Parashar!
We had a wonderful service provided by Dr Parashar and the team at North Shore Private hospital. She was such a mental support throughout my pregnancy and I can not speak more highly for her.
She is one of those Obstetrician who would make you feel at ease as soon as you see her. Her knowledge is immense and spot on each time. Being a planned c sec my delivery was as smooth as I could have wished for. Thanks to her planning and suggestions and the recovery has been great so far too.
I would highly recommend her.

Dr Parashar is a fantastic obstetrician, I am truly grateful. She is personable, took the time to get to know us, listened and cared for me and my baby. Dr Parashar is extremely kind, caring, compassionate, friendly and trusting. She is an exceptional obstetrician and the team around her are amazing aswell.
Throughout my pregnancy Dr Parashar was always readily available, via phone/email or in person if I needed an additional visit or reassurance that everything was okay.
Dr Parashar respected my birth plan and went to every length to ensure my wishes were followed. Dr Parashar has a lot of experience with highly complex deliveries and routine births. This experience saved my life over a year ago when I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy which was seriously life threatening. Fast forward to now, I’m proud to say on May 31 this year, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, and again I am incredibly grateful to dr Parashar for his safe arrival. We ended up in a emergency c-section and I couldn’t have asked for a better obstetrician to be the person delivering my boy.
At every stage Dr parashar made myself and my husband feel reassured, safe and in control throughout our labour. I highly recommend Ujwala.
When we have another baby, I couldn’t imagine anyone else but Dr Parashar to be our obstetrician. Thank you again for looking after our little family.
What can we say about Doctor Parashar and Alex, what a team! Alex, the practice manager would answer my texts at all hours of the night, in particular if I had any first time mum scares or concerns. She was always incredibly sweet and comforting.
Dr Parashar (Ujj), provided an amazing service as our obstetrician, from her compassionate, kind, reassuring nature, all the way until spoiling our twin girls with hugs, kisses and a gorgeous blanket each.
We even were lucky enough to have her check up on me post c-section in hospital on her days off. Really went above and beyond which made my delivery very relaxing and enjoyable.
If we ever have children again, we would definitely come back or better yet, refer her to everyone we know. Her team in particular the anaesthetics department, Dr Nayana was amazing too – people Ujj works well with. Thank you again for being on this journey with us.
We are truly impressed with the way Ujwala treated us during our pregnancy. She is one of those obstetricians who are really knowledgeable, caring, friendly, humble and helpful. It was our first baby and the way Ujwala handled everything right from the beginning was commendable. She was never in a hurry to finish the appointment, easily reachable, had attention to detail and provided good recommendations at every stage of our pregnancy.
She was called at 03:00 AM in the morning as I started having contractions (well before I was due), she came immediately to the hospital to look after me. However, she suddenly had to return at 07:00 AM (same day) for an emergency c-section. The way she managed everything on that day was remarkable and will remain in our memories forever.

At the very beginning of my wife’s pregnancy we engaged with Dr Parashar – “UJJ” – and we’re very glad we did. She was knowledgeable, patient and reassuring all the way through; and when the time came for delivery (which came a bit early, and definitely suddenly!) she was there.
She also has a good network of professionals who can give other aspects of care and advice when/if required.
In short: pregnancy is a time when help and support is needed: Ujj gives both of these in spades. She is very knowledgeable and keeps up to date on the subject, but explains it in an accessible way. Both my wife and I give sincere thanks to Ujj and highly recommend her to ALL parents who are going through the challenging but wonderful journey of pregnancy and childbirth.
The day we found out that both me & my wife were pregnant; was one of the happiest moment in our lives. It was joy, excitement & also anxiety/fear of an unknown world which we were going to embrace. Dr Ujwala (famously known as UJJ in North Shore Private) came into our lives & enriched this journey for us into a memorable experience that we will never forget.
The time, the patience, the love for her patients & commitment in placing the mum/bub in the heart of every discussion is something I have seen her constantly demonstrate (over the last 9 months). Being first time parents – We knew we had a lot of questions however at the back of our minds – We were also unsure whether we were asking the right questions as well. The patience UJJ demonstrated over all the appointments/conversations to get us ready & help us make the right choices at different cross roads (along the way), is one of the things I will never forget from this experience. Also: post-delivery of the bub – UJJ always took the time out (in between her busy schedule) to come see how my wife/the new bub was doing. Helping us with advice on matters related to the health of the mum and the bub as well. When my wife was being looked after by the mid-wives @ NSP; I have also heard more than 1 mid wife mention that the care given by UJJ to her patients is to be commended. Which resonated with what I have always believed from Day 1.
As a I look back to how UJJ came into our lives; all I can say is that we were blessed. In the first trimester – We had done a little bit of online research to find an obstetrician for my wife/my bub & after a quick chat with UJJ on the phone – I knew very quickly that she is going to be a very important part of our lives. Just as much as we have a significant amount of respect & appreciation for UJJ; these qualities are also demonstrated by her practise especially Alex (the practice manager) who helped look after the logistics and arrangements to ensure that we had the least amount of stress in this journey.
In the future; if & when I do embark on another journey (like this) with my wife – I know who I can trust, to ensure that my wife & our bub are taken care of.
We highly recommend Dr Parashar, she went beyond what we expected and we felt confident and supported throughout the pregnancy and delivery and after. She is very professional while also making you feel very comfortable and at ease. We had a few surprises along the way and she helped us through these confidently so we never felt stressed or worried. We absolutely will use her services again in the future and can’t thank her enough for everything.
