DESCRIPTION
Dr Sarah Greenwood is a compassionate and approachable female Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Sonologist (ultrasound specialist). She has consulting rooms at SAN Parkway and delivers at SAN Private Hospital in Wahroonga.
As a mother of four young children, Sarah can empathise with the issues of balancing family responsibilities and work. She is passionate about all aspects of pregnancy and women’s health and providing women with personalised and evidence-based clinical care in a down-to-earth and understanding way.
Obstetrics
Dr Greenwood is dedicated to caring for women at all stages of their pregnancy journey. She always seeks to understand what women and their families hope for with their pregnancy, while ensuring safe, high quality care is delivered. She aims to provide low intervention care where appropriate but is also happy to offer caesarean section on maternal request.
Her services include (but are not limited to):
- Infertility and Pre-pregnancy counselling
- Early pregnancy complications (such as bleeding, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, hyperemesis)
- Maternal medical conditions (such as diabetes, thyroid disease)
- Twin pregnancies
- Normal vaginal birth
- Vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC)
- Caesarean section on maternal-request
Swaddle Program
Dr Greenwood is pleased to now be part of the SAN ‘Swaddle’ program. This is a wonderful pregnancy package, which provides a no out-of-pocket private obstetric service for those with HCF private health insurance (with pregnancy-cover). This includes all antenatal appointments, the birth, anaesthetist and surgical assistant (if you require an epidural or caesarean section), paediatrician, blood tests and pregnancy ultrasound scans. Dr Greenwood delivered my triplets at 35 weeks and cared for me antenatally through the high risk pregnancy clinic. I’ve never met a doctor who connected so genuinely and personally with me, particularly through the highs, lows and fears of such a high risk multiple birth. Dr Greenwoods attention to detail and unwavering commitment to my and my babies health led to the best possible outcomes for my trio – healthily entering the world at 35 weeks. Dr Greenwood compassionately understood the highs and lows of the shock, helped made the call about stopping work safely and when to be admitted to hospital for antenatal care all whilst understand my outside of pregnancy life. I wouldn’t hesitate to anyone to see Dr Greenwood for their pregnancy and obstetric care.
Dr Sarah is a wonderful doctor, I was incredibly lucky to have her hold my hand through my first pregnancy! I always felt well informed, cared for and reassured. Even when my birth plans needed to change Dr Sarah made sure my delivery was safe, special and the best possible experience.
Sarah is an incredibly skilled, caring and reassuring OBGYN. We felt really lucky to have her guide me through pregnancy and deliver our daughter in Oct 2022. Her extra out of hours contact and care when I had COVID and again when I had to be admitted to RNSH emergency with a kidney stone was exceptional. As I first time Mum, I really appreciated how well informed I was going into birth. Sarah took time to explain my options to me when my waters broke but had no contractions and gave me time to try and get labour started on my own at home before coming in for the oxytocin drip. Labour and delivery was calm, special and empowering thanks to Sarah and my husband was so thankful to be able to assist with the end of delivery and to cut our daughter’s cord.
