Berry Park

If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-filled park where kids can climb, ride, and explore, Berry Park in Mt Colah ticks all the boxes. With a brand-new playground, lots of green space, and a track that loops right around the oval (ideal for bikes, scooters or roller skates), it’s the perfect spot for an active family outing.

We recently visited the brand-new Berry Playground in Mount Colah with Cassie (9), Vivi (7), Elliot (6) – and our dog in tow – and everyone found something to love, whether it was testing out the climbing wall, speeding around the loop, or pretending the stick teepee was a secret hideout.

Getting to Berry Park in Mount Colah

Berry Park is very close to the Mount Colah entry and exit on the M1, so it’s super easy to get to from all over the North Shore!

Located just off Pierre Close, Berry Park is easy to access by car, and there’s plenty of free street parking nearby. The space is flat, open and well laid out – perfect for families arriving with bikes, scooters, picnic gear or pups (dogs are welcome on leash).

The playground

Located right next to the oval, this playground is the perfect size for siblings who aren’t keen on watching the game! There’s plenty to climb and do.

Climbing net

Elliot went straight for the climbing net. He proudly called me over to watch him climb up the step-wall on the side (something we haven’t seen before!). Then took off, climbing his way across the net.

On the other side, there’s a mini rock climbing wall and a slide perfect for all ages.

Swings

Big swing set for all ages

All three kids are still obsessed with swings, especially the big round one they can all jump on together and enjoy. There’s also a baby swing and a regular swing.

    Fun obstacle course for kids

Off to the side of the main playground, you’ll find what the kids called a “mini TreeTops course” – only low to the ground and perfect for younger explorers. There’s a fun little trail of obstacles to balance and climb across, from rope to stepping platforms, ending with a stick teepee just begging to become a fort, hideout or fairy den.

It’s ideal for building confidence, encouraging movement and letting imagination lead the way.

    Bike path

Vivi tests out her rollerskates on the smooth path

One of the highlights of this new playground is the bike track that goes all the way around the oval. Vivi brought her roller skates along to test them out (she’s new to them and this was mostly flat, which was ideal). While Elliot sped around on his bike, Cassie chased with the dog.

There are also adult workout stations dotted around the edge – ideal if you want to sneak in some fitness while the kids play.
