Looking for a playground on the upper north Shore that is ideal for toddlers, has lots of grass for picnics and play, a scooter track… plus is close to the train, has easy parking, and nearby cafes? Then take a visit to the lovely playground at Robert Pymble Park. Located right behind the main strip of shops, it’s a peaceful oasis near lots of amenities!
Robert Pymble Park reopened in May 2023, after major work took place on a new playground and other improvements, including accessible toilets, new landscaping and drainage.
The new playground design was themed around the area’s former use as a fruit farm by its namesake Robert Pymble.
The goal of the upgrade to Robert Pymble Park was to create an attractive, engaging and inclusive community place for everyone in the local community to enjoy. Features of the upgraded park include:
- A playground catering for a range of age groups and abilities.
- A circuit track for younger children to ride bicycles and scooters.
- Installation of park furniture, bin, bubbler and seating options.
- Improved accessibility for users of all age groups and abilities.
- Increased planted areas and nature play elements.
- A fully fenced play area to increase safety.
- A mix of rubber softfall and mulch surfacing.
- A range of passive, imaginative and active play activities.
Playground equipment
There’s plenty of natural shade across the playground, where you can let the kids roam! The equipment is geared towards the younger ages, with plenty for them to explore. You will find:
- a tractor
- a farm-inspired climbing frame
- fruit shaped rockers
- circuit track to ride scooters and bikes.
Other facilities
The playground is right next to the tennis courts, with a great outlook for a fun-filled morning or afternoon adventures. There’s plenty of seating around the area, or you can take advantage of the large, grassed area to bring your very own picnic that you can sit back and enjoy in the shade.
Just a 5-minute walk from Pymble shops, you can stock up on supplies before heading to the playground, or even grab an well-deserved coffee before heading over. There’s also cycle parking.
