Established in 1926, Wahroonga Preparatory School is Knox Grammar School’s vibrant co-educational campus for girls and boys from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.

To help girls and boys prepare for school and get a head start for Kindergarten, Wahroonga Prep offers three and five-day Pre-Kindergarten places for children. Specialist early learning teachers provide a structured school-readiness program, developing literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills in a fun, positive learning environment.

In Kindergarten to Year 6, the school’s small class sizes and dedicated, innovative teachers help girls and boys develop core academic skills, providing a firm foundation for secondary school.

Specialist subject-based teachers provide Literacy and Information Technology, Science, Music, Japanese and PDHPE classes each week.

For extra support, a gifted and talented program led by specialist staff provides opportunities for high-potential students with enrichment and extension of the curriculum. Learning support staff assist classroom teachers with group work in literacy and numeracy.

Wahroonga Prep’s integrated Positive Psychology program supports and improves the social, physical, spiritual and academic fitness of every student.

Beyond the classroom, comprehensive music, sport, service learning and club programs are all part of life at Wahroonga Prep.

We are into our fourth year at the school having relocated from the UK with three young children, starting in pre-kinder.

Individual attention to each of our children was very important to us and this is just what we got. Our children are very different in their personalities and strengths. They are all thriving and having fun every day at WPS.

Sport and music are also important to our kids and the school has given them a wide range of choices to participate in lots of different activities both during school times and after school.

WPS is a hidden treasure in the North Shore – we don’t believe there’s any other school quite like it!
