DESCRIPTION
Dr Alaina Taylor is a Sydney based Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon.
She gained her medical degree with Honours at the University of Sydney, completing her internship and residency at Concord General Repatriation Hospital before embarking on 8 years of advanced surgical training. This included 3 years in General Surgery and 5 years in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, achieving fellowship to the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2018.
Fully trained in all areas of Plastic Surgery, Dr Taylor has a special interest in breast enhancement, revision and reconstruction, body restoration surgery such as abdominoplasty, as well as skin cancer surgery, facial surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. She is one of very few, female Plastic Surgeon’s in Sydney, who offers the full range of breast reconstruction techniques. Following her formal training, Dr Taylor travelled to the Leon Bérard Cancer Centre in Lyon, France, to learn advanced fat grafting, breast aesthetic and reconstruction techniques with Dr Emmanuel Delay, the President of the French Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and a world pioneer and expert in fat grafting. During this time, she developed her breast reconstruction and aesthetic breast surgery skills and learnt grafting techniques which are broadly applicable in Plastic Surgery, but particularly advantageous for breast reconstruction, congenital breast deformity, breast implant removal and lipoconversion, as well as facial rejuvenation surgery.
Dr Taylor has a genuine and approachable manner that puts patients immediately at ease. She is caring, compassionate and always has the patient’s best interests at heart. These attributes, along with her expertise and sound judgement, guarantee that she will always provide safe and sensible advice and deliver excellent surgical outcomes.
Dr Taylor worked as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Westmead Public Hospital for 2.5 years where she performed complex cancer and trauma reconstruction for the breast, head and neck, upper and lower limb, in addition to skin cancer surgery, maxillofacial surgery and hand surgery. Dr Taylor now works exclusively in private practice consulting in North Sydney, Potts Point and Westmead. She operates at multiple private hospitals across Sydney.
