Welcome to Turramurra Learn to Swim, centrally located on the North Shore. In our heated indoor pool, we run an outstanding Learn-to-Swim program for babies, preschoolers, school-aged children and adults.

We have been offering professional swimming teaching in a small, caring environment since 1981.

The enclosed, specially designed teaching pool is heated to at least 32.5ºC all year. This provides an ideal environment and pool space for teaching swimming. Warm water is particularly important for parent and baby classes and relaxes children who may not be confident.

Each class is half an hour in duration. The small children feel secure and the older children can develop their strokes and technique with a teacher in the water providing encouragement and correction.

Our swimming lessons provide your child with a lifelong skill and water safety techniques. This gives both you and your child confidence around the water. Our pool water is crystal clear and our reception area is air-conditioned for your comfort.

Weekly swimming lessons are offered throughout the term as well as Holiday Intensive Swimming Programs. You are welcome to visit our Swim School to watch a class in progress. There is plenty of parking in the Council car park adjacent to the Swim School and the access is easy.

We are open year-round, six days a week, Monday to Saturday.

Our son has been swimming here for 3 years and loves it. Staff are friendly and professional and we always recommend Denis Pontin’s to others.

I would definitely recommend this swim school! It is a small pool, which means only one class runs at a time – it’s not as noisy and overwhelming as some other swim schools we’ve experienced. Our son (now 4yo) was also a reluctant swimmer and not making any progress at his previous swim school. We moved him over to Denis Pontin and he’s not only making progress, but also enjoying his time in the pool. Our son’s teacher is lovely – he’s had the same one for over a year. I believe most of the teachers have been with the school long term and are highly experienced.

There is only one class in the pool at a time so the lessons aren’t noisy or chaotic.
The teachers are fantastic and don’t change at the end of each semester when the uni timetable changes!
The waiting area, which is separated from the pool by large glass doors, is comfy (and dry) for Mums and siblings with toys and a fenced out door area for running around.
Parking is easy, plus they have a super flexible make-up lesson policy.
    Very highly recommended!

Our son loves his weekly swimming lessons at Denis Pontin’s swim school. He is now much more confident in the water. The staff and swim teachers are very professional.

Fabulous Swim School, My DD (4) wouldn’t go in the water as she hated the mum and bubs swimming lesson we did at another swim school, she had been terrified of the water since she was about 2. I took her on the recommendation of another mum to Denis Pontin and she is now in the space of 1 term swimming unassisted. Tim is her teacher and she is excited and wants to go in the pool constantly. My little boy (3) started with her and hated the water now he loves it and is swimming (with assistance) but is happy in the water.. Only downside – my 3rd (22 months) is too young to go in with them and isn’t happy about it.

    Highly recommend!
