What to Expect of the Kangaroo Point Boardwalk

The boardwalk winds its way through lush bush and tranquil salt marsh, elevated to protect the local environment while offering sweeping river views along the way. Shaded rest spots and benches make it easy to take a breather, enjoy a snack, or soak in the peaceful surroundings.

The path leads you straight into Brooklyn village, where you’ll find kid-friendly cafes, picnic spots, and even ferries to Dangar Island if you’re feeling adventurous. A Sustainable Step Forward

Funded by a combination of State Government grants and Hornsby Shire Council, the boardwalk was designed with a low-impact approach to preserve and protect the unique intertidal ecosystems. It’s not only a fantastic recreational space, but also a thoughtful investment in the environment and the community.

“This Kangaroo Point Boardwalk will take you on a journey through one of Sydney’s most spectacular natural settings. It’s perfect for weekend cyclists, bushwalkers, families on an outdoor adventure, or anyone wanting to spend the day exploring Brooklyn’s cafes, scenic walks or nearby Dangar Island. The Kangaroo Point Boardwalk will be a memorable highlight of your day out.” – Hornsby Shire Mayor Warren Waddell

Pack a picnic, bring the bikes or scooters, and set off on a day of riverside discovery. The Kangaroo Point Boardwalk is now open and ready to welcome families looking for fresh air, exercise and a deeper connection with nature.
