Birth has to be one of the biggest moments of a parent’s life. Regardless of how it turns out, it is transformative. Own your birth was born out of a desire for more parents to experience birth as the empowering and beautiful experience it can be.

Own your birth provides a space for women to own their births and be the mother they always wanted to be.

Partners and fathers play an important role as the guardians of a woman’s birth space, and yet there is not a lot of practical, relevant support available. Especially not after the birth, this is where Own Your Birth comes in.

I’m Alex Cech, Founder of Own Your Birth. I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, Olympian, PhD biotechnologist, engineer, Healing Birth Practitioner, Principal Consultant, and entrepreneur.

Own Your Birth is a new way to own your birth story, your journey to parenthood, and to bring birth back as an experience of power and respect for future generations. We’re revolutionising the way parents see themselves, enjoy their babies and children and change the narrative on birth.

We’re on a mission to transform birth trauma or avoid it altogether. We believe that birth is an empowering experience for women and their partners, and both play a critical role in birth and healing.

The stories we are told, the ones we tell ourselves and the ones we tell our children are all passed on to future generations. It’s time we own our story.

We’re pioneering a deeper understanding of what it means to be a mother, a father, a parent. We offer birth debriefs, birth trauma counselling, returning to work as a parent coaching, as well as pregnancy and birth coaching.
