DanceTots is a boutique ballet and dance studio in South Turramurra and St Ives offering quality dance tuition focusing on nurturing the love of dance, imagination and musicality, where every child is made to feel special.

Our very popular mummy/daddy and me classes (2 to 3.5 years old) enjoy a special bonding time with their parent or carer in a relaxed environment, enjoy twirling, singing and dancing with your tiny dancer. Our dads did a very special daddy and daughter dance at our concert this year!
Our pre school dance classes (3.5 yrs to 5 years old) incorporates basic dance and ballet technique, music and props, encourages gross motor development, rhythm and co-ordination. Our programs are strongly influenced by current pre-school education trends in teaching through play acknowledging that pre-school children are a highly imaginative age group with pretend play being an important aspect of child development.
Junior ballet (5-7 yrs ) which follow on from the preschool programs, Next Steps is developed to be an inspiring, challenging and fun approach to learning classical ballet. The children learn excerpts from the classical ballets like Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and the Nutcracker. The emphasis is still on your child’s enjoyment without neglecting the spirants program is developed to be the next stage in learning classical ballet. Unlike Next Steps, Aspirants doesn’t follow a class theme, but follows the structure of a traditional ballet class with barre work and centre practice. They will also participate in an exam at the end of the year and receive a certificate and a trophy.
DanceTots also offers jazz classes with our DanceKidz programs! Ages are from 5-10yrs.

My 3 year old absolutely loves Ballet at DanceTots. The classes are really fun and relaxed – with a theme each term so the girls can really get comfortable with their routine. It was my daughter’s first experience of any classes and she has grown so much in her self-confidence over the last few terms – she’s always asking ‘is it ballet day’. The girls all love Miss Sophia and she really gets to know each child to help them grow in their love of ballet.
Also, some great things from my perspective – the girls can wear their own twist on a ‘ballet outfit’ and there are no OTT concerts at the end of the year with endless rehearsals or costumes. Instead we get to attend an open class each term and really see the joy first hand.
