DESCRIPTION
As the only Council-run childcare centre in Ku-ring-gai, Thomas Carlyle Children’s Centre provides high-quality full-day care in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. We cater for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Nature & learning:
Backing onto bushland, children enjoy seeing wildlife and connecting with nature. They also help tend to our veggie gardens, harvesting fresh produce for our cook to use in daily meals.
What we offer:

- Hours Open Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 6pm (51 weeks per year; closed between Christmas & New Year and on public holidays)

- Nursery Room: 12 children (0–2 years)
- Junior Room: 20 children (2–3 years)
- Preschool Room: 23 children (3–5 years)
- 55 care places daily

My daughter attended both the nursery and junior room for a total of 18 months and only since touring new day care centres due to an upcoming move can I see just how lucky we’ve been. The staff have all been lovely and caring, a lot of thought goes into the activities and regularly rotated toys and the outdoor areas are incredible. It definitely feels like a second home for our daughter, and we’ve also felt a real connection thanks to the regular events where parents are invited and the warm welcomes from the staff. We will miss it hugely.
