Family farm-stay accommodation in the Historic town of Mudgee. Six self-contained cottages, all with their own private alfresco BBQ area, each offer different bedroom and bathroom facilities and are rated accordingly. Nightly discounts the longer you stay.
A home-away-from-home … all you need to bring are your clothes and toothbrush
Animal Farm: Children love my animal farm with Kamahl the camel, Peppe the donkey, Miss Olivia the ostrich, bunnies, geese, chickens and more. Throughout the property, you’ll find swings, totem tennis, a badminton court, a cubby house with a ping pong table & blackboards, acres of lawns to play cricket and kick a ball, a bike shed with bikes and toys for use on the property.
For the littlies, there is a large sand pit and, with prior notice, egg collecting at the beginning of each day … a real treat for the children.
For the parents, glorious gardens to amble and smell the roses, private river-front picnic spots for relaxing or perhaps try your hand at fishing, and for a ‘hit-n-giggle’ acres of manicured lawns to practice your golf (golf clubs supplied).
Throughout my property, I have seasonal vegetables to pick for guests who prefer to eat in, or within walking distance from your cottage, perhaps enjoying a meal at one of Mudgee’s various restaurants or Historic Pubs.
Customised guest services for hire: If interested in winery or sightseeing tours, or a lift to/from lunch or dinner, we have two vehicles and drivers for hire.
Mudgee’s Olympic pool and children’s water park are easily within walking distance from your home. Maybe a combined country-beach summer vacation in the school holidays.

MY DREAM : farm-stay cottages in Mudgee.
I’m a baby boomer, fortunate to grow up on Sydney’s North Shore. I still have wonderful childhood memories playing outside until called in for dinner. Skinning my knees and elbows on adventures my parents knew nothing about. Helping my father tend his vegetable gardens, collecting fresh eggs from our chicken yard, knowing the sweet smell of the honeysuckle vine that covered their yard … and the joy of running barefoot, climbing, exploring and catching tadpoles.
I’m now a mother and grandmother, and as my family grew, I wondered, “Will my grandchildren experience the things I took so much for granted when I was growing up?”
Which brings me back to My Dream. To create the opportunity for today’s children to experience a tomato picked fresh as it explodes in your mouth, to know the sound of running barefoot through autumn leaves, to gather perfumes and smells to trigger special lifelong memories.
In 1996, except for three river gums, my Getaway Gardens were paddocks of weeds and broken fences. Now there are gardens of flowers and vegetables, animals of all varieties, and acres of ambience nature so freely gives to anyone who takes the time to “smell the roses” and soak it in.
My Dream is now a reality, here in Mudgee for all ages to share. A place where friends and families have the opportunity to build their own special memories and dreams.
