Since 2007 the buoyant Mister Maker has been entertaining our kids. He really knows how to make arts and crafts fun, plus he has bunch of friends to help him. I bet your children know all about…

The Shapes: There are four of them – the colourful Circle, Rectangle, Square and Triangle – who join him on every show and always love to do their dance…if you can wake them up first!

Tocky: He’s a cuckoo (and a wee bit crazy) but he’s really great at challenging Mister Maker to make something fabulous in under a minute.

Scrappz: This little guy with whacky hair is Mister Maker’s new friend and lives in his mobile.

With friends like these, it’s no wonder Mister Maker loves creating lots of fun stuff for the kids who watch him. Speaking of which, some of our very own kids from the North Shore got to ask him some really really important questions recently.

What our North Shore Kids asked Mister Maker

1. Mr Six –  Do you ever fail the Minute Maker challenges?

I haven’t yet – let’s hope this hasn’t jinxed it!

2. Miss Five – Are the drawers neat and tidy on the inside?

I try my best! Sometimes a bit of a mess is fun…as long as you tidy up afterwards, of course!

3. Mr Four – Why do The Shapes sleep so much?

They are very sleepy! But you should see them dance in our live show – it is so funny!

4. Mr Six – Is there a Mrs Maker?

There isn’t a Mrs Maker yet – just me, The Shapes, Tocky and Scrappz!

5. Miss Four – How do The Shapes get back onto the very high shelf?

With a little help from some Mister Maker magic!

6. Mr Three –  How do you know what to make next?

An arty idea of what to make can come from anywhere. A good place to start is the world around you.

7. Miss Seven – Does your mum choose your shirts?

Ha ha, no…but she sometimes irons them for me! (Thanks Mum x)

8. Mr Four – What do you like to make at home?

First thing I make every morning is a cup of tea!

9. Miss Six – Would you like to live in Australia?

I’d love to live in Australia one day – wonderful people, amazing weather and a beautiful country. (And, of course, a fantastic cricket team to watch!)

10. Little Miss – Are you related to Mr Squiggle?

I’m not. But I often wonder if maybe Rectangle is a distant cousin of mine – we’re both very tall and like to bounce around all day!

Mister Maker is coming to Sydney in July! He’ll be at the The Concourse Chatswood Concert Hall on Saturday 11 July at 1.30pm and 4pm, and on Sunday 12 July at 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm. If you want to go with your Mini Makers, you’ll need to be quick (you might even need to book in less than a minute!) – the tickets are selling that fast! Just go to www.livenation.com.au

In the meantime, maybe your Mini Makers would like to practise their ‘making’… Here’s a Funky Bird’s Nest to try!
