Lots of things change inside our bodies after having a baby, and sometimes it feels like we are never going to get our core and bodies back to how they were. Introducing a little incidental exercise into our days can help, writes personal trainer Lizzy Williamson.
As a fellow mum, I know it can be hard to find the time or energy to do something for ourselves and our bodies. When my kids were little (they are now seven and eight) I was always waiting for the big opportunity of time – the hour that I could go out and exercise or do something just for me. It was when I realised that doing little things throughout my day could be really effective on my mood, energy and the results I could see in my body, that everything changed. I stopped waiting to have the time and freedom that I used to have and, instead, started taking a few minutes here and there for me.
This is a work-out that demonstrates you don’t even need to be away from your kids and your stroller to get a great toning effect. Even in a couple of minutes when you’re out and about, or when still at home, you will start to feel your muscles burn, experience a flood of oxygen and endorphins, and remember what it feels like to do something that is good for you. Enjoy!
