Smiles2U Wishing Tree: Donate a toy for a sick child this Christmas

Christmas should be a happy time, but sadly some children will find themselves in hospital on Christmas Day. To help bring smiles to as many children as possible, North Shore Mums Smiles2U is running the Wishing Tree Christmas Toy Drive – so sick or injured children can receive a gift to brighten up their day.

Throughout the month of November, North Shore Mums Smiles2U we will be collecting toys to give to the many children who will be in hospital on Christmas Day. Smiles2U supports seven local hospitals around the North Shore.

In order to be able to surprise and delight as many children as possible, Smiles2U are calling upon the generosity of our North Shore Mums community to donate a toy.

Mum Anna & Sophie, at The San Hospital

‘Mum Anna and little Sophie loved your Smiles2U gift bag. Anna was so impressed with the gift and the wonderful work that you do. Sophia won’t let go of her new little doll. Thank you for helping us make their stay in our Emergency Department a little brighter. Smiles2U ladies are amazing.’ – Staff at the SAN Hospital Emergency Department.

“I wanted to write and thank you for your amazing work. My little boy aged 3 is currently in hospital where we will need to remain for about a week. He was admitted rather unexpectedly so we hadn’t thought to bring any activities or toys with us. Your gift bag certainly lifted his mood and gave him something to focus on other than his tests and feeling miserable.” – Eliza

‘Today was an exhausting day, my baby boy was struggling to breath early this morning so I raced him straight to emergency. It was so nice to receive the North Shore Mums Smiles2U pack. It made my little man smile (and me cry). Thanks so much for organising these lovely packs. We got a sippy cup, wooden car, touch and feel book and a teddy that was just like my little guys usual comforter. It was so perfect. I just wanted to pass on my appreciation, I’ve paid it forward so the next Mum can have the same joy on a trying day’. – Dani Gilligan
