Wannabees… what an amazing place! Upon arrival at the front counter, we were greeted by a very friendly lady who happily explained how the play centre worked (and importantly where the cafe was located!). We walked through the gate and were excited to see a children’s wonderland.
The main area, boasts a stage, a rock climbing wall and a smaller scale play land for younger children which is known as the ‘gym’. There’s also an area with blocks for children to sit and build.
However the crowning glory of the Wannabees play centre is the ‘City’. There’s a street lined with rooms which have been transformed into a hairdresser, bank, fashion shop, hospital, fire station, a supermarket, a TV studio, police station and a cafe with a kitchen.
Each room has amazing resources for children to engage in dramatic play for hours. There are child sized equipment and dress ups along with adult sized items which makes the area seem much more real to the children.
There’s also planned experiences for the children. A staff member gathered the children to dress up and perform a fashion show on the stage. She also did musical statues, the limbo, helped them squirt the fire hose (with real water!) and film the children so they saw themselves on TV. They absolutely loved it!
There’s a great cafe too… so parents can sit and enjoy a coffee or some lunch while watching the children play.
I will definitely be taking my children (aged 5, 3 & 1) back to Wannabees at Frenchs Forest. They all had an amazing time!
