Life as a busy mum is quite hectic and there are the times when you just want to heat something up in the microwave but you want it to taste like it’s straight from a restaurant! We tried DIY Catering who provide quality authentic Indian meals which you simply heat and serve.
The DIY Catering website is really easy to navigate through. I chose what I wanted and it was delivered to my door and kept cool in a styrofoam box until I collected it. The meals are prepared by professional chefs using the highest quality raw ingredients which are snap frozen once made (there are no additives or preservatives).
I knew I had an all-day course to go to on a Monday and didn’t have the time to prepare a dinner, so on Sunday morning I took out of our freezer our dinner – Butter Chicken, Biriyani and Dal Makhani. I slowly defrosted it in the fridge for 24 hours (you can also heat straight from frozen).
When it was time for dinner it was very easy to just heat up the meals and turn on the oven for the naan bread. There was no prep from my end at all.
My kids loved it! I have a 9, 7 and 5 year old and they couldn’t get enough of the butter chicken and the naan bread! They loved dipping the bread into the sauce and I actually had to heat up more naan for them! It was a hit! My oldest even tried the Biriyani for the first time and loved it! All the dishes were delicious and there was plenty of it in each serving.
DIY Catering is a great alternative if you don’t have the time to prepare anything, want the taste of restaurant food and only want to pay half the cost of a takeaway! My kids are already asking when they can have some more butter chicken and naan bread!
