Three Beans Mosman Lunch

Discovering a spot that’s family-friendly (and has babycinos on the menu) is a real find! Our NSM Discoverer Emma Bannouri took her tribe for a taste-test at three beans Mosman – here’s how it went.

Last Friday, I took the NSM official babycino reviewers (aka my children) down to three beans Mosman for lunch and a taste test of their new summer menu.

Located at the quiet end of Military Rd, three beans is a chic cafe with outdoor seating and a nice atmosphere. On arrival the staff greeted us and settled us at a table outside with a high chair for my 2 year old. The girls enjoyed their prime people watching position, pointing out the fire engines, buses and people going by while I had a look at the menu.

The Menu

three beans pride themselves on their healthy, free range and seasonal produce and this was certainly reflected on their new summer menu. They offer an all day menu with a variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to choose from – who doesn’t like breakfast for lunch! The brekkie dishes include the classic eggs benedict, pancakes and big brekkie while lunch has a great selection of healthy bowls and TWO variations of the Aussie brunch staple of smashed avo on sourdough.

They have a seperate kids menu which features fairy bread, pancakes and three types of toasties as well as babycino’s and milkshakes in smaller sizes.

The coffee and tea is ethically and sustainably sourced and I like that their drinks menu includes a few different options like malabar chai and tumeric lattes if you’re feeling adventurous.

It’s refreshing to see a cafe chain who really cares about their produce and where it comes from, you can read more about three beans produce on their blog.

What We Ordered

Usually I try and convince my kids to split a meal but today I was having one of those days and the kids won. I ordered the Japanese chicken salad, Miss 5 had a ham & cheese toastie and Miss 2 wanted a chicken burger & sweet potato fries!

The food came out within ten minutes and was fresh and tasty. There was silence for a few minutes at least while the kids tucked into their lunch and can you believe it but Miss 2 almost finished her entire burger!

Do you think she’s enjoying her chicken burger?

The girls then finished their meal with a babycino which Miss 2 spectacularly emptied her into her lap. Luckily the lovely staff averted a crisis and quickly replaced it with a new one, although she was disappointed not to get a second marshmallow…!

Now that’s a happy little lady!

Insider tip from a local mum…

After lunch my kids were on a bit of a babycino high and definitely not ready to get back in the car and drive home. I stopped to ask a local mum where the nearest park was and she directed me to the newly redone Memory Park on Cowles Road. It was a quick 5 minute drive away and the shady park with a multi-story climbing structure was thoroughly enjoyed by both girls!
