NSM Review: 67 Union Street Deli, McMahons Point


67 Union Street Deli in McMahons Point is a wonderful new addition to the area. As a local Mum, I’m so excited to have a new child-friendly cafe on my doorstep complete with really great coffee, top notch food and a relaxed and friendly environment. I seriously want to go back here every day!

It opened in February 2014 by couple Emily and Gareth, who are both former employees of The Boathouse. You could not wish to be greeted and served by more genuinely friendly staff.

The blackboard menu offers a comprehensive range of nutritious hot and cold dishes to satisfy any healthy appetite, at any time of day.

Special dietary needs can be catered for with most dishes being adaptable and gluten free bread and cakes are also available. I’m vegetarian, and have dined here for breakfast and lunch and have been looked after with any special request. I can vouch for the breakfast fluffy eggs on sourdough (normally served with bacon) and for lunch I opted for the avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes and persian feta but asked for a half portion with a half portion of green salad with kale, cucumber and avocado, and it was truly delicious.

My family raved about the bacon and egg roll, served on brioche with rocket and aioli; whilst my husband found the beefburger with pickles, cheese and mustard aioli is amazing after one or two too many the night before!

There is no kids menu as such, but any dish can be made as a kids portion, as well as a very pretty babycino complete with sprinkles and marshmallow!

Anything from the menu or deli counter can also be purchased to take away.

There is a weekday and a weekend menu which will change seasonally to adapt to the best available locally sourced produce.

Opening hours are 6:30am to 12 noon Monday, 6:30am to 3pm Tuesday to Friday and 7am to quiet on weekends.

Please note: The play area on the lower ground floor has been replaced with a kitchen.
