With 10 synthetic grass and two cushion hard courts, The Queenwood Tennis Centre is uniquely placed in the leafy surrounds of Oxford Falls. Their courts are available for hire 7 days and their weekly programs offer a complete range of tennis activities for all levels. Beginner to Elite, Juniors to Adults. The Queenwood Coaching Team aims to provide engaging, high energy sessions with a focus on maximum participation and improvement. Available for private, semi-private and group lessons – their coaches are all motivated players themselves with Australian and International qualifications and experience. They are an Active Kids Provider and are a Tennis NSW Affiliated Club.

COVID-19 Action Plan: QR Code scanning is now required upon arrival. They provide hand sanitiser at various points around the centre and have signage reminding visitors about social distancing rules still in place. They are following guidelines set by Tennis Australia.

BX1 Gym’s award-winning kids martial arts program meets each age group’s developmental, physical, social and emotional needs. Young students are taught fundamental skills such as listening, structure, discipline, balance and coordination via fun karate drills and games.

Starting kids on the road for their black belt is aimed to improve their confidence, goal setting, leadership, reduce hyperactivity, build new friendships while staying active and improving their physical strength. Learning a martial art helps develop effective self-defence and raised awareness of anti-bullying strategies.

Gymbaroo (Mosman)

Mosman Gymbaroo provides hands on sensory experience classes for adults, babies and children from 8 weeks of age through to 4 years. Classes focus on maximising development both physically and developmentally in babies and children. Classes are a combination of equipment and mat time, music and parachute exercises. Babies classes ensure the best development for babies as well as the introduction of tummy time and sensory activities for babies along with music and parachute exercise.

Term 2 begins Monday 19 April.

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden (St Ives)

Junior Rangers Club is Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden’s active, hands-on after school program for primary school children where they learn all about native fauna and flora, and develop essential bush skills. The 10-week program runs on selected weekdays 4pm – 5.30pm and costs $130 per term or $18 per week casually. Active Kids Vouchers accepted.

They also offer a Nature Play program on selected weekdays with activities specially created for children aged 0 to 5 and involves a fun morning of play-based investigation and discovery in nature led by experienced Environmental Education Rangers.


Swimming Classes

United Swimming (Wahroonga, Epping, Top Ryde, Lidcombe, Croydon, Northmead & Sydney Olympic Park)

United Swimming is dedicated to providing swimming and training programs to people of all ages and skills.  Their learn-to-swim program has four ability-based levels for children over four years old. This program accommodates children who are new to swimming lessons to those who are ready to develop correct strokes in all four strokes.

Their squad program has four ability-based levels (Semi Squad, Bronze Squad, Silver Squad and Gold Squad). They emphasise on introducing race techniques, teaching basic rules and principles of FINA regulations, perfecting technique and mastering competitive starts and turns.

Classes on the North Shore are held at Knox Grammar Aquatic Centre in Wahroonga. Multiple other locations across Sydney too.

COVID-19 Safety Plan

United Swimming has been working very hard to ensure that all their members can return to lessons in a safe environment and will have a separate COVID-19 Protocol for each location as the information will vary depending on the facility. They have made changes to procedures according to each facilities protocol to prevent COVID-19 and maintain the highest hygiene standards, they ask that all members comply with these procedures.
