We all feel a bit weary from time to time, and sometimes it shows in our skin! If you need to hit refresh on your skin, or just need to take some time out from your busy mum life, there’s a new treatment that will tick all your boxes. NSM Discoverer Jodie Compton takes it for a road test!

With  three young children to manage (not to mention all the running around after them and their activities!), like many mums, I sometimes neglect my own skin. So when I was approached by Endota Spa to try their New Age Light Therapy Facial I was very excited!

The treatment

As someone who hasn’t embraced Botox or collage, the non-invasive chemical free treatment suited me perfectly. Here’s how it’s described on their website:

A non-invasive skin renewal treatment clinically proven to boost collagen, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and defend against the ageing process. Feel transformed with this 60-minute treatment as Light Therapy (LED) technology deeply hydrates and penetrates the skin, stimulating cell regeneration and boosting collagen and elastin production.

The benefits: Skin structure is improved. Skin is instantly rejuvenated, smooth and more youthful.

Getting started

Walking into Endota Spa Hornsby, I was warmly greeted by the owner, Stacey. She took me through to the relaxation room for my initial consultation, and to fill out the online consultation form and LED Consent form. I instantly felt relaxed here after rushing around in the morning doing school and day care drop offs. She offered me one of the Endota signature organic teas- Serenity, which is passionflower and chamomile, a very soothing tea to drink prior to having a treatment!

Next I met my treatment therapist Tracy, who is also the Spa Manager at Hornsby Endota. She checked my forms to see if there were any concerns to be addressed and explained that she would first look at my face through the skin scanner to analyse the quality of my skin. We then went to the treatment room called “Breathe”, (each room is named after an essential oil), which was beautifully presented with dimmed lighting, and relaxing music which made me feel like I was on a secluded island, kiddie free!

The treatment

Now it was time to start the treatment. I was wrapped in towels and hopped on the bed and a Jade Stone was placed on my stomach, to help with calming and relaxation.

I was asked to take three deep breaths and relax into the sensory journey with essential oils. I was well and truly relaxed by this point!

Tracy proceeded to do an eye and lip cleanse, followed by a light cleanse and a deep cleanse with new age products. To get rid of all of the dead skin a mango and pomegranate rapid enzyme peel was applied. This was left to set for a few minutes then buffed off. The smell of this peel was amazing.

Then, the moment I had been waiting for! Tracy applied a hydrogel mask which had a cooling effect while also nourishing the skin with marine botanicals. This was kept on while the Infrared light mask was placed on my face.  The mask did not feel uncomfortable at all and did not disturb the relaxing atmosphere. Compared to other LED treatments which aren’t direct, this one goes deeper down into the cellular layers. There was no pain or discomfort during this treatment which lasted ten minutes. During this time, Tracy did the most amazing hydrating foot massage!

Post-treatment

After the LED treatment the peel was removed and a collagen sphere was applied, plus a triple defence eye cream which contains caffeine, botox, vitamin A and E. This was followed by a peptide moisturiser and sunscreen. As much as I didn’t want the process to end as I was so relaxed, it did have to end! I was instructed to take three big inhalations and then left to lie for a few minutes before returning back to mummy mode, but in a more calm, peaceful state!

The results

After only one treatment my skin felt and looked amazing- noticeably different to the skin I walked in with.  Tracy tested my hydration levels with the BT analyser. Prior to the treatment I registered at 27, which is a bit dehydrated.  After the treatment my result was 49, which was an excellent result! Tracy gave me some night recovery cream and said in the next few days the results will be even better.

Overall, I would highly recommend this non invasive facial and I can’t wait to show off my new makeup-free skin to the mums at school pick up.

Jodie’s face is absolutely glowing after the treatment!
