When the seasons tick over, too often you find yourself staring in your wardrobe thinking ‘I have nothing to wear!’ Well, this season you can solve that problem with a fresh take on fashion, featuring tailored lines, embellishment and autumn tones.
The start of any new season sees the shops overflowing with tempting new gorgeous colours, fabrics and styles, and now that the Autumn/ Winter season is upon us, I was eager to attend the AW17 Runway Reveal at Chatswood Chase (with special guest Marina Prior) to see the new styles on offer.
Luckily for me, the show had the perfect setting. Chatswood Chase always holds amazing events and the AW17 Runway Reveal was no different. The amazing performer Marina Prior opened the show in perfect style, wearing a gorgeous white silk evening gown which was embellished with crystals. What a way to begin! Looking amazing and with her spectacular voice, she certainly got everyone in the mood for a fab night!
There are three new womenswear boutiques that have recently opened in Chatswood Chase:
- Karen Millen
- Maje
- Sandro Paris
These brands were featured in the show and really showed that they’re worth checking out if you’re looking for something on trend and unique. Accessories were a key part of this season’s looks. They are an easy way to take your outfits to the next level. Simply swap your shoes, jewellery and bags to go from work wear to a dinner date. Too easy! Also on trend are dresses and skirts that finish below the knee (great news for the more modest among us!)
Take a look through the images and descriptions below for a style that suits you this season! The bags on the catwalk are from Oroton, shoes from David Jones and sunglasses are from OPSM.
Carla Zampatti
Military with feminine details were a main feature for Carla Zampatti’s runway. Her clean tailoring is at the centre of her signature style.

Karen Millen
Karen Millen is renowned for gorgeous designs that effortlessly transition from workwear to after-work wear. I absolutely love her knitwear which can be worn all through the year and is cut in a classic style so the pieces never ‘date’. Try this stylish black and white checked jacquard knit top.

These fitted cuts are flattering for many figures
Sandro
Sandro is a new French label that recently arrived to Chatswood Chase (it is the only stand alone store in Sydney!). Sandro’s designs are for the artistic, confident woman who knows exactly what she wants. If you go in-store you will see their signature ‘stars and stripes’ theme, but I particularly love their pastel colours and tailored lines.

Leona Edmiston
You may associate Leona Edmiston with her famous stretch dresses in wrap styles with bright vibrant colours. This season, she has created some new seductive silhouettes with feminine fabrics and colours including pinks and burgundy.

The deep burgundy shades are perfect for autumn
Gorman
One of my favourite labels, as it daringly steps away from the traditional Autumn/Winter neutral colours. Gorman’s eccentric and eclectic style featured statement Aztec jackets paired with more casual fabrics and show-stopping shoes. The bright prints and cuts are a specialty of the brand.

Coach
Coach transformed the iconic trench coat by embellishing the collar and belt with rivets to create an on trend statement piece. The reversible bomber jacket is also a great investment for this new season.

Camilla
Camilla is renowned for the colourful and playful digital prints in gorgeous silk fabrics and feminine lines. She featured a long line jacket and playsuit which are her signature style.

Fun, flirty and fresh was a Camilla look
David Jones
David Jones featured their own in house label of feminine evening gowns in pastel pink and navy. A classic and failsafe choice, these are gorgeous for any special occasion.

If you’re looking for a show stopping LBD, look no further. This gorgeous Kookai style is perfect! Who doesn’t love a little lace dress? It is also available in red.

This LBD also comes in a daring red
Rodeo Show
Rodeo Show featured their signature style lace in a formal dress great for those special date nights.
