Little market goers can also join the spectacular lights and songs of the traditional German Lantern Walk –  after dark, hundreds of children will be guided by their colourful and luminous lanterns as they parade through the school grounds singing lantern songs in English and German.    While young and old alike will seek out the warmth and huddle around the obligatory bonfire toasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate

To be held over two evenings, visitors will be able to eat their way through a cornucopia of hearty German fare and more.

Enjoy authentic and national delicacies including:

  • The ever-popular bratwurst, Thuringian Sausage
  • Kartoffelpuffer (German potato pancakes)
  • Waffles and pretzels
  • Homemade kugelhupf cakes and sweet treats
  • Adults can keep warm with a cup of traditional mulled wine at the Glühwein Hut
