It’s the most anticipated movie for kids of 2019 (if not the last five years), and that’s the sequel to Frozen. North Shore Mums held a special charity screening on Thursday 28 November at Event Cinemas Hornsby, and 150 local kids and parents joined us for a special morning on the day of release.
Let’s tell you this first! Frozen 2 did not disappoint. In fact, many of the reviews we’ve heard from the mums who were lucky enough to watch it at the special have said it was even better than the first. Sarah, one of the guests, said “Iย think it was better than the first one. Thanks for organising such a fabulous event. Soooooo many happy little facesย โค”.ย
And it’s all for a good cause! We’re delighted to announce that this screening (along with the one being held at Hoyts Chatswood on Saturday 30 November) has raised over $2500 for North Shore Mums Smiles2U, so they can continue to deliver care packages to sick kids (and worried parents) in the emergency departments of our local hospitals.

Action Dance Academy
Talented senior dancers from Action Dance Academy brought some extra Disney magic to the morning, dressing up as Ariel, Belle, Snow White and Cinderella. One of their Ready Set Dance classes also provided some pre-show entertainment with some gorgeous dances.

Raising money for North Shore Mums Smiles2U
All profits raised from this charity special screening will help Smiles2U to continue to provide their Smiles2U Bags to children and parents in the Emergency department of eight local hospitals across the North Shore and Central Coast (Gosford Hospital).
Since launching in 2015, North Shore Mums Smiles2U has produced over 1600 Smiles Bags and over 1000 Essentials Care Packs. They have now expanded their level of support to include Gift bags for women undergoing Chemotherapy for the first time, Essentials Packs for the elderly (those that arrive from nursing homes without basic items for their comfort and hygiene), supporting Bear Cottage with Gift bags for Mums and Essentials Packs for the Aboriginal Community admissions team over at Cumberland Hospital (Westmead).
Smiles2U operates entirely on donations and sponsorship, and everyone who makes the magic happen does so on a volunteer basis.
