THE YARD Anti-Bullying Program Touring into Sydney Schools in 2021

The Yard is an award-winning anti-bullying program by internationally acclaimed Australian contemporary dance company Shaun Parker & Company about bullying, social exclusion, peer pressure and emotional resilience. They will be presenting The Yard performances and workshops in Sydney schools from the Monday 15 to Tuesday 23 March 2021 in the lead-up to the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence.

After taking part in The Yard program: 95% of children said they would not bully someone. 85% of children felt more resilient against bullying. 88% learnt how to help those being bullied (statistics from evaluation of The Yard conducted with more than 1100 primary students in 2017).

This is an ideal in-school performance for K – 6 and Year 7 & 8 students. The program includes:

• Live performance of The Yard in your school, by their professional dancers (duration 20 mins);
• Post-show Q & A where students can interact with their dancers, who will share their own experiences of overcoming bullying and pursuing their passion for dance; 
• Access to our FREE Education Resource;
• An optional 20-minute Hip-Hop workshop, which will allow students to learn some of the hip-hop moves in the show. 

Duration:
One hour, which includes the performance and interactive Q & A

Cost:
$10 per student plus GST. 
$5 per student plus GST for additional 20-minute Hip-Hop Workshop.
Teachers and carers can attend free of charge. 

Capacity:
They can perform to 400 students per performance.
