This World Refugee Day every action counts. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we can all make a difference. Come along and walk #WithRefugees on Sunday 20 June.
A UNHCR and OneStep Walks partnership.
Pirrama Park, Pyrmont
11am – 2pm
To celebrate World Refugee Day we’re building mutual understanding and empathy one step at a time! Local Sydneysiders and people who’ve recently arrived in Australia with refugee experience will join together for a walk and talk around Pirrama Park and the harbour. It is incredible how powerful human connection can be for people facing social isolation. We find that our walk and talk events make a lasting difference for refugee and local communities alike.
Joining in is simple: register for the walk now and come along on Sunday 20 June Pirrama Park, Pyrmont at 11am. Easy!
Starting with a very special Welcome to Country and Aboriginal smoking ceremony we will then walk in small groups, joining our local and refugee communities so everyone has an interesting conversation and meets someone new. Coming back together after the walk a picnic lunch will be provided for all participants.
It will be a day of welcome and celebration.
This is a COVID-Safe event so numbers are strictly limited. Please ensure you register for this event so we can safely manage our participants. For more information you can read our full COVIDSafe plan here.
