As the weather starts to warm up, you might be looking for some new classes for your children. Term 4 is the perfect time to try a new activity! There are lots of fabulous kids’ classes across the North Shore, offering an array of opportunities for our little ones – from swimming, tennis & soccer, to kindergym, dance, drama and music! Mosman Gymbaroo runs developmental exercise, music and movement programs for bubs (from 8 weeks )through to kids 5 years. The classes have been running for many years and help bubs and children to learn to socialise, while working on physical and cognitive development through exercise. Mosman Gymbaroo welcomes Mums and Dads groups and are now taking booking for TERM 4 (commencing 12 October).

COVID-19 Action Plan:
They have a COVID safety plan in place and wash down all equipment between each class. Additionally, numbers of classes comply with Government COVID restrictions. They strongly encourage all people attending to maintain the 1.5m social distancing rule.

With 10 synthetic grass and two cushion hard courts, The Queenwood Tennis Centre is uniquely placed in the leafy surrounds of Oxford Falls. Their courts are available for hire 7 days and their weekly programs offer a complete range of tennis activities for all levels. Beginner to Elite, Juniors to Adults. The Queenwood Coaching Team aims to provide engaging, high energy sessions with a focus on maximum participation and improvement. Available for private, semi-private and group lessons – their coaches are all motivated players themselves with Australian and International qualifications and experience. COVID-19 Action Plan: QR Code scanning is now required upon arrival. They provide hand sanitiser at various points around the centre and have signage reminding visitors about social distancing rules still in place. They are following guidelines set by Tennis Australia.

Philotimo Freestyle Jujitsu is now offering a full martial arts program for boys, alongside their regular women and girls programs!

Hippokampos is for boys 7-11 years, and classes are 10am-11am on Saturdays in Term 4. This class provides a structured framework of self defence, communication & life skills for boys 7 – 11 years of age. Alongside effective martial arts, boys also focus on kindness, empathy, boundaries & respect for self/others.

The “Hippokampos” was a mythical Greek creature half horse & half fish! Like the Hippokampos we must learn to bring our opposing halves together to live in harmony inside ourselves. Sensei Carmen Lia will teach your son balance between strength + sensitivity in a challenging & encouraging environment. Their award winning programs will give your son the skills to stay safe, everywhere, always.

Is your child interested in performing? Term 4 is a great time to join! Boost confidence, creativity and performance skills with drama. It’s a great way to find a like-minded community of young people (and families), and to give a much-needed joyful experience to children and young people. MSTYP students say drama is the highlight of their week, and young people also have opportunities to audition for youth and children’s productions. JUMP! Swim Schools in Crows Nest is a boutique learn to swim facility for babies and children aged from 3 months up to pre-squad level. They provide small, intimate classes free of distractions, expert qualified swimming teachers and a heated, purpose-built indoor pool with UV treated water which is gentle on your child’s skin. Junior Rangers Club is Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden’s active, hands-on after school program for primary school children where they learn all about native fauna and flora, and develop essential bush skills. The 9-week program runs on selected weekdays 4pm – 5.30pm and costs $117 per term or $16 per week casually. Active Kids Vouchers accepted.

They also offer a Nature Play program on selected weekdays with activities specially created for children aged 0 to 5 and involves a fun morning of play-based investigation and discovery in nature led by experienced Environmental Education Rangers.

COVID-19 Action Plan: Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden has implemented COVID-19 Special Operating Procedures for the safety of staff, participants and visitors to the Wildflower Garden. These procedures are based around social distancing, hygiene, venue cleaning and record-keeping. Please assist by observing instructions provided by Council staff or signage. A credit will be issued in the case of non-attendance due to illness and/or quarantining requirements, as per their cancellation policy
