If you love belting out some Christmas tunes & being surrounded by the festive mood, then visiting one of the many carol concerts happening around the North Shore is probably a cherished tradition. In 2021, many of our favourite carol events are back, while some remain online, ready for you to rock out in your living room!

Saturday 27 November

Sing Noel (Online event)

The 2021 San Carols that are usually held on the lawn in front of the hospital have been cancelled this year. Instead, Sydney Adventist Hospital has once again partnered with Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church and Hope Channel to bring you a traditional Christmas experience that is sure to enkindle the season with joy and peace. This year Sing Noel will be a mixed event with a live in-person audience of 600+ held in Wahroonga Church on Saturday 27 November, and streamed live via the Church’s Facebook page.

The Concert will also be re-streamed on Sunday 12 December (their traditional San Carols date) via the Sydney Adventist Hospital website, and by the Hope Channel on Christmas Eve. The concert will feature cherished Australian singer and San Carols favourite, Silvie Paladino, along with the Australian Girls’ Choir, and other talented artists who a familiar to both the San Carols and Sing Noel stage.

          Carols in Willoughby Park

          Celebrate the Christmas season at this delightfully jubilant concert performance for the whole family. The fun starts at 4pm with loads of activities to get you in the Christmas mood. Entertain the kids with fairground rides and indulge in an extensive range of international food. Look out for their special guest, Santa, who will be making a personal appearance. As the sun sets, get your voices ready for a spectacular carol sing-along extravaganza from 6.30pm. The Willoughby Band, Willoughby Symphony Choir and guests Northern Voices choir will get you into the Christmas spirit with traditional carols and some funky favourites.

          With limited seating to accommodate physical distancing, the venue will have COVID safe procedures in place including temperature checks, use of hand sanitiser and thorough cleaning between each performance. Please stay at home if you are unwell or if you have come into contact with anyone who has cold and flu symptoms.

              Friday 17 December

              Carols Under the Star (Online Event)

              Carols Under the Star 2021 is going virtual this year. Due to the uncertain nature of COVID restrictions, they will not be doing an open-air event but rather something very similar to last year’s virtual carols.

              Featuring carols, bands, school performances and special guest Colin Buchanan, this premiere Youtube event will bring the hope of Christmas to Berowra and beyond in a COVID-safe way.

              This event is also to raise awareness of the work of Compassion – see Berowra Carols Facebook page for details of how you can help their work.

              This year, gather your family and friends together and set up a house party, BBQ or street party to celebrate Christmas – with ‘Carols under the Star’!

              Taronga Zoo Christmas Concert

              Created specifically for the Zoo, the Christmas Concert is the pinnacle of family-friendly entertainment and is one not to miss! Bring the whole family and enjoy an amazing summer evening set against the iconic backdrop of Sydney Harbour.

              A variety of food and beverage options will be available to purchase on the night or you can pack a picnic to enjoy with the family.

              Carols in the Domain

              Each year Woolworths Carols in the Domain sees Australia’s biggest stars come together to celebrate Christmas, while millions across Australia watch the show from the comfort of their home on Seven.

              Head to the Domain in Sydney on Saturday 18 December. Gates open 2pm with food trucks, sponsor activations and the Carols pre-show followed by the main concert at 7.45pm.

              If you can’t make it to The Domain, watch the concert on Seven on Thursday 23 December at 7.30pm.

              Sunday 19 December

              Rotary Carols, North Ryde

              Enjoy an authentic carols experience at Sydney’s second-largest Christmas carols in the heart of Ryde. With entry from 4:30pm and entertainment kicking off at 5:30pm. Running through the night is the Rotary Carols performance, featuring all your favourite classic carols with the best performers from all over Sydney.

              Come in early to experience their amusement activities and keep the kids entertained with the giant slide, or dodgem cars and lots of other rides. Food vendors and a sausage sizzle will be served throughout the night. Money raised on the night goes to various local and international projects run by the Rotary Clubs of Macquarie Park and North Ryde.

              Thornleigh Community Christmas Carols

              Ministry of Rock is back in 2021 to get everyone all up and dancing before Carols! As the sun sets, and before you settle in ready for some of your favourite Christmas Carols, they’ll have you all up and singing along to some of the best rock from the last few decades.

              Turramurra Community Carols

              Join this family-friendly Community Christmas Carol event hosted by Turramurra Uniting Church on Sun 19 Dec. Enjoy a BBQ, singing, safe candles and a visit from Santa at Cameron Park from 5.30-7.30pm.
