A home with an Emma Wiggle costume on the wall and lovely accents of yellow? It must belong to Emma Watkins. Yes, that’s right! The ‘girl with the bow in her hair’ is selling her gorgeous East Ryde home, and you can take a tour of the green gardens, playhouse, and bedrooms (with the best Emma Wiggle and Beyonce posters… although you won’t see other Emma Wiggle toys!)
The first female Wiggle, Emma Watkins, bought a house in East Ryde in March 2019, following her split from her Purple Wiggle husband, Lachy Wiggle – but now she’s selling the place she bought for $1.3 million.
The beautiful 1960s home with a soothing view of East Ryde’s luscious green bushland will go under the hammer on 7 August 2021 after being listed by The Agency Eastern Suburbs.
The green surrounds of the nearby bushland are made a part of the casual living feel, with vibrant shades of green visible through the home’s large windows, plus pictures of one dress Emma Wiggle wears in her shows.
The house itself is set on a 1330 sqm block with expansive grass and nestled beside a copse of towering trees.
The home boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms plus a garden, including a rockery garden thanks to the gorgeous additions by the first female Wiggle. (Emma is the first female wiggle of the core group, but the first female wiggles as a whole were Anni and Vivi of the Taiwanese Wiggles).
Speaking on the ABC program Australian Story, Emma says the split with Lachie prior to the sale was a difficult time for her- and the then current Wiggles.
“We both felt that the most important thing was the band,” she said, adding that at first even the other Wiggles didn’t know what had happened.
