It feels like we’ve only just gone back to school, but it’s just four weeks until the April School Holidays! To help you plan a fun-filled break with your children and to provide lots of great options for those days when you have to work, we’ve got lots of options listed in our Essential Guide to April School Holidays. One day Coding Camps for Years 2 to 11 students. Children learn to code and build their own online computer games. Three levels of Coding Fundamentals, Game Development and Digital Art for children of all ages and levels of experience. STEM focused programs: computer science, maths, creativity and problem solving all are covered. All students will take home their own online account with projects developed during the workshops and with endless access to online study materials, hence they will be able to develop their coding skills outside the classroom.
Try out Aquabliss’ School Holiday Intensive program at one of three North Shore swim centres. This program has been put together to refine a students’ swimming technique and to improve their swimming skills in a short period of time. This is a great way to not only keep the children active, but to also get them ahead in their swimming progression.
Want to see your child make real progress with their swimming in just one week? Then book them in for an intensive four or five-day swimming course with Turramurra Learn To Swim. The 30-minute morning lessons are structured according to ability and age to ensure children have the best learning environment while also having fun! With only one class at a time, distractions are reduced. A comfortable air-conditioned area is provided for parents, and the pool is indoors and heated to 33C.
The ability to speak confidently is an essential life skill, important for developing socially and, for some students, a task that sometimes feels impossible. But it doesn’t have to be. Sydney Speaking School offers debating and public speaking courses for students in Years 1 to 9 that provide students with the confidence they need to succeed. Each class is kept small, taught by an experienced and passionate coach, and is designed with the mantra ‘learning by doing’ at its heart.

Kids Circle has something for all tastes and interests, offering a range of amazing workshops to help unleash your kid’s creativity. These holidays there will be Kitchen Adventures where kids will have so much fun cooking with certified Le Cordon Bleu Chef Gene Cameron. There’ll be Sing, Dance, Perform workshops with a disco party. For those who love Arts and Craft you can try Origami, canvas painting, decorating your own beautiful pot plant, hand make soaps and bath bombs or create a pretty dreamcatcher. Spoilt for choice? FootGolf is a new, fun sport combining Golf and Football (Soccer). It is played the same way as golf on a golf course, but players kick a soccer ball towards larger sized holes on the fairway. The sessions consists of warm up games, fun games to develop skills learning how to kick off, approach and putting, game time and a warm down. The program incorporates numeracy (adding scores), comparing actual scores with pars, relating hole pars and distances.
Looking for some holiday fun for your little ones? Enrol them into Humpty Camp! This multi-sport holiday program is designed specifically for children 2.5 to 6 years and is run by energetic and professional staff. It offers a wonderful opportunity for children to develop their sporting and social skills and to increase their self confidence in a safe, caring and fun-filled environment. Skills in writing & responding will enable your upper primary child to gain confidence in the whole writing process and is designed and run by Sydney Therapy & Co speech and occupational therapists. They want to help your child leave feeling new confidence, with strategies for text types & ways to answer questions. Have a budding artist in the family? Workshop Arts Centre is running school holiday art classes for children and teenagers. A varied program led by experienced artists and educators, children can design their own t-shirt & hand print onto fabric, slow stitch a tote bag using a mix of old & new textiles. Create their own masterpiece inspired by great artists, like Van Gogh & Monet, create teapots by bringing a little bit of the farm home in the form of a clay tea set or using clay and making a few mysterious & scary monsters!

A vacation care program with a difference! Bop till you Drop programs are educational with professional teachers who gently encourage and teach your child new skills in dancing, singing, acting, plus craft, cooking and science to break up the action packed day. There are 6 classes per day, each class runs for 45 minutes. This program is aimed at building self-esteem in your child. They will also perform in a concert and receive a certificate on the last day. The concert is an important part to building confidence and their public speaking skills.
