One of the fastest-growing kids’ coding schools in Sydney, Creator Academy teaches a range of courses designed to build STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), skills in children from 3 to 12 years old. Classes are run on weekends during school term at the moment, but after-school and holiday courses are planned for 2018 so be sure to check back often.
Parent and Toddler classes are suitable for children from 3 – 5 years old. These classes use the high-tech Cubetto system which is screenless and wireless, making it a toddler-friendly way to learn basic coding.
Mixed Reality Coding classes utilise the award-winning Osmo system for children from 5 – 12 years old. It is a perfect crossover point for young children to introduce complex coding concepts as well as the number skills, memory, and language skills before doing robotics or programming.
Beginner Robotics classes are for children from 7 – 10 years old. This is the official Lego Education WeDo 2.0 curriculum with a graphical programming language and simple robotic sensors.
Advanced Robotics classes are suitable for children over 10. The official Lego Education EV3 robotics curriculum builds on the WeDo 2.0 knowledge, and allows children to play with more sensors, motors, and designs for both automated and remote-controlled robots.
Creator Academy is run by Garry Law, Webby Award-winning game and app developer from Sydney. Garry has developed software and programs for clients such as Coca-Cola, Disney, Commonwealth Bank, Smiggle and Lexus for over 12 years. Unlike other robot classes, Creator Academy educators are all industry professionals and cutting edge technology specialists who are also passionate about teaching children skills for the future.
