With the mission, “Eat & Live Seasonably”, Yummy Times Group (YTG) and its brands aim to improve the health, education, wellbeing and nutrition of everyone, regardless of age, by working with businesses across a range of industries and within the community to address local health outcomes for Australians, as well as global issues such as obesity, food availability, sustainability and food wastage.
YTG samples menus at many food outlets to evaluate their cooking techniques so you can enjoy your meal knowing that you’re eating fresh, balanced and nutritious food. The Yummy Stars Advocate System assesses dishes based on five criteria: sustainability practices; dietary intake; locally sourced fresh ingredients; balance of nutrients; and health, awarding a star for each category that meets the criteria. The platform seeks third-party verification from industry professionals and reputable sources, namely Accredited Practising Dietitians & Nutritionists following the Australian Dietary Guidelines released by NHMRC (National Health & Medical Research Council).
Developed to encourage people of all ages to eat and live seasonably, the Be SEEDsational campaign inspires, educates and entertains the community to live a more nourishing, sustainable and active lifestyle. The campaign brings the ‘Be SEEDsational’ books to life, sharing educational tools for schools, song and dance performances, and distributing seed cards and healthy snacks at shopping centre events and within the community.
Kids Fun Nutrition Workshops
YTG also facilitates fun, educational workshops for children, delivered by experienced educators and dietitians. The skill-building workshops offer kids hands-on exposure to food, nutrition and sustainability via engaging activities they can share with their families to help create healthy habits for life.
